Informed System Upgrades

A montoring device provides statistics which allow visibility of information which may include solar power generated, energy used, amount of power exported to the grid, the amount of power taken from the grid etc. This will allow more informed system upgrades in the future, such adding more panels and/or adding batteries.

Central Solar Systems can offer a broad range of monitoring devices. Some are tied in with inverters and others are 3rd party independent monitoring systems.

We will discuss your needs and recommend the best type of monitoring device for you.

TYPES OF MONITORING DEVICES

Wattson and Holmes

All SMA inverters including the SB3000TL-21 and above have internet connection included (Webconnect). By including a wireless bridge (we can install this as an optional extra) the SMA inverter can connect to the wireless router. Sunny Portal is a web based portal that collects and stores the statistics for your inverter. These statistics can be viewed over the internet using Smart Phone, iPad/Tablet or PC/Mac. Through this connection method Sunny Portal only shows inverter statistics such as solar power generated and inverter logs.

SMA Sunny Explorer

Sunny Explorer is the free software that can be downloaded from SMA. The SMA inverter is equipped with Bluetooth as standard. The free software can be downloaded onto a Bluetooth equipped windows PC or Mac running a windows shell. A Bluetooth USB device can be purchased for around $10. Sunny Explorer only shows inverter statistics such as solar power generated and inverter logs.

SMA Home Manager and Sunny Portal

All SMA inverters including the SB3000TL-21 and above have internet connection included (Webconnect). By including a wireless bridge (we can install this as an optional extra) the SMA inverter can connect to the wireless router. By adding SMA Home Manager with the SMA Energy Meter additional information can be sent to Sunny Portal which will allow the display of power usage, power export and power taken from the grid. Sunny Portal is a web based portal that collects and stores. These statistics can be viewed over the internet using Smart Phone, iPad/Tablet or PC/Mac. This is also a step towards battery management. Battery usage statistics are also available through Sunny Portal.

ABB WIFI Card and Aurora Vision

The ABB Wifi card is an option that is available for all current ABB inverters. Aurora Vision is a web based portal that collects and stores the statistics for your inverter. These statistics can be viewed over the internet using Smart Phone, iPad/Tablet or PC/Mac. Through this connection method Aurora Vision only shows inverter statistics such as solar power generated and inverter logs.

Sungrow Solarinfo Bank

All Sungrow inverters sold by Central Solar Systems include Wifi. SolarInfo Bank is a web based portal that collects and stores the statistics for your inverter. These statistics can be viewed over the internet using Smart Phone, iPad/Tablet or PC/Mac. Through this connection method SolarInfo Bank only shows inverter statistics such as solar power generated and inverter logs. The Sungrow Wifi connection also allows connection from your Smart Phone directly to the Sungrow inverter.

Tigo Power Maximisers

TIGO Power Maximisers allow each panel to operate to its full potential. They also allow monitoring and statistics down to each individual panel. This allows any problems to be quickly identified and rectified. The snapshot above is from our installation at Radio 4CRB, showing the power being generated by each panel.
